When should you eat versus when to supplement, from a nutritionist. I like to let food be your medicine in my practice and use supplements often.
So let’s talk about whether I would recommend one over the other.’
The first nutrient he started talking about was glutamine, which is said to boost your immune system and repair damaged cells, according to the Cleveland Clinic.
‘It’s an amino acid that can really help with intestinal problems, especially leaky gut. It helps to nourish the intestinal cells and thus acts as a spackle to close all the small tears.
He said: ‘You can take a form of glutamine supplement or you can drink bone broth.
A gut health expert has encouraged his followers to drink bone broth as he has noted that it can provide you with collagen and glycine.
He added: ‘You get more bang for your buck.
Netizens flooded the comments section and praised the nutritionist for her tips
The next nutrient he talked about was Vitamin D, adding that Vitamin D deficiency is “very common” and can affect bone health, thyroid health, mood, mental health as well and the health of your immune system.
Since there is no ‘food source rich in Vitamin D’, Claire suggested that her followers buy it in the form of a supplement.
The final strength is selenium. Selenium is very important for your thyroid.
‘You can get your daily selenium from Brazil nuts – not a lot of them. You only need two, maybe three,” he said at the end of the clip.
